Breeding Intern - Crop Tomato (Student Only)

As a Breeding Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in horticultural crop cultivation (tomato) and practical plant breeding processes, from seed to seed. This role will provide exposure to farm management, seed production, and biotechnology applications in plant breeding.

Learning Objectives

  • Assist in cultivating tomato/eggplant plants and managing farm operations.
  • Support plant breeding programs for tomato/eggplant, including selection and hybridization.
  • Help in seed management, including harvesting, processing, and quality control.
  • Conduct practical biotechnology and plant pathology applications in breeding.
  • Maintain accurate records of breeding trials and plant performance.
  • Collaborate with the breeding team in research and field activities.

Program Requirements

  • Active student (S1/D3) majoring in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Horticulture, or related fields.
  • Understanding of basic agricultural science, agronomy, and plant breeding.
  • Willing to work outdoors in farm environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented, persistent, and able to work in a team.
  • Committed to a 5–6 month internship program.
